“Jessica” is considered to be one of the biggest hit songs from the Allman Brothers song catalog.  Dickey Betts, former guitarist and front man for the Allman Brothers, wrote the song and is featured in an intimate guitar lesson where he shows us how to play the song.  I found this video and wanted to share it with you since Betts walks us through every part of the song and slows it down so you can learn how to play it.  I hope you enjoy this great lesson from Dickey Betts that explains how to play the Allman Brothers classic song, “Jessica.”

  1. Jonathan says:

Duane was dead by the time Jessica was written. So was Barry Oakley. Les Dudek actually played the other guitar and Lamar Williams played bass on this track.

      To Jonathan:

You’re correct, but Les Dudek only played the acoustic rythm on this instrumental. The melody and electric solo are all played by Dickey Betts.
